Seeing this photo makes me angry. It is basically saying that it is acceptable to just simply take pictures of what you are learning in school without even writing anything down. Personally, I actually find taking notes helpful because I am repeating in my head everything that I write down. I find myself knowing more information than I thought I did, just because I wrote notes in class. However, kids that decide to just take pictures of their notes can be inhibiting themselves from learning. This has become a huge problem in our society. Kids cannot even go one class period without using their phones. They have become addicted to this technology and probably think they could not live without it. It is scary to think about what the future will be like with technology.
Honestly, I have been guilty of this before. I would take pictures of the slides in classes where the professor would fly through the slides, so that I could fill in any blanks in my notes. Taking a picture of the slides isn't bad, as long as the student actually writes the notes down, or has some way of studying them after class. More and more classes are using technology as a learning implementation; I could bring my laptop to almost any class and already have the notes. Learning methods are dependent upon the person, and maybe this isn't too bad of a method as long as the students are gaining and retaining information. Yes, the technological age we're living in has its drawbacks like technological dependency and a decline of face to face communication (and many, many more), but maybe we need to adapt in a more productive manner to these changes. There *are* positives of the influx of technology, and this could be -if used properly- a positive.
Society has become very lazy. What happened to simply taking notes with a pencil and paper? Is taking a picture just an easier method to learning? I do not think so. Taking a picture defeats the whole purpose of the reason of taking notes. You write notes down in a note book to be able to understand the subject and have your brain memorize what you write down. Taking a picture of the teachers notes does not help the students learn the material. It is sad how society is becoming. Pretty soon no one will use a pencil and paper to take notes. Yes, maybe taking a picture of the teachers notes is easier, but it is really destroying the students ability to fully learn the subject.
